2024 Quilters' Planner
Being busy doesn’t mean you’re making progress on your quilts!
The primary challenge I hear from people joining the International Quilters’ Guild is lack of time.
The 2024 Quilters’ Planner is designed to help you track your projects, make regular progress on them, and actually finish your quilts!
And, if you need a new project, this year’s planner includes a Block-of-the-Month pattern! Each month, you’ll get instructions to make a block, and by the end of the year, you’ll have completed a queen-sized quilt!
Why a Hard Copy Planner?
I love Google Calendar. I keep track of my appointments on it, but it’s not great for to-dos. I find a paper planner easier to use for projects.
Hard copy planners can help you:
- Keep track of more than appointments; add details about projects and events
- Allow you to review past events easily
- Digitally detox by eliminating all those electronic notifications
- Aren’t hackable–ensuring privacy and security
- Serve a specific purpose
That last reason is why this planner was created! It’s the best of both worlds–a calendar and a place to keep track of quilt projects.
A Traditional Planner
Each month, the planner begins with a traditional calendar page overview. Then, each week has its own page with space for appointments, priorities, to-dos, and notes.
A Quilter’s Planner
But this planner is made just for you: a quilter! At the start of the year, you can list all the projects you plan to work on. Each project has a place for a due date, a start date, and the date you finish it.
Then, checkboxes let you track the progress, marking off when you have the pattern and the fabric, when you’ve cut out the quilt, when you’ve pieced the quilt, when the top is finished, when it’s quilted, when it’s bound, and finally when you’ve put on a label!
Each month also has a page for you to plan and track your progess on your quilt projects.
Working on your projects regularly helps you finish them!
And, listing them each month ensures you won’t lose track of where you are.
And, There’s More!
By request, this year’s planner includes full-color photos of quilts made by members of the IQG community. We all love eye candy, and this planner showcases some beautiful quilts — along with the names of the makers and the patterns they used.
